Websites and e-commerce for manufacturers

For companies that make things, sell through a network, and need the documentation to keep up.

Selected clients: Dieffebi · Molino Moras · Adriastrade

The challenge

I · The challenge

A buyer in Germany is comparing three suppliers. Yours is the one whose datasheet is a PDF from 2019.

Manufacturing websites fail in a specific way. The company is solid, the product is good, the people who know it are in the building — and the website is three years behind the catalogue. A new finish ships and the site still shows the old range. A certification is renewed and the PDF on the server isn’t. A dealer in another country asks for the technical sheet and someone sends it by email, again.

The problem is almost never the design. It’s that nothing connects: the product data lives in the ERP, the documentation lives in a folder, the website lives somewhere else, and keeping the three aligned is somebody’s Friday afternoon.

We build the connection. Italian manufacturers, mostly in Friuli and the North-East, from single-plant companies to groups selling across several markets.

6

interventions for Molino Moras in five years

3

projects for Adriastrade between 2024 and 2026

Dieffebi

Product configurators. A catalogue where the customer doesn’t pick a finished item but composes one: dimensions, finishes, modules, combinations. The configurator does the work a sales engineer used to do by email, and it produces something the dealer can quote from.

Molino Moras

A mill selling direct on Shopify since 2020. Six interventions over five years — the longest continuous relationship in our manufacturing portfolio. Launching is the easy part; what matters is who is still there in year five.

Adriastrade

Infrastructure and road construction. Three projects between 2024 and 2026, each one building on the last rather than replacing it.

How we work

III · How we work

North: your team publishes, we don’t sit in the middle

The same editorial framework (opens in a new tab) behind our furniture and culture clients. Product pages, technical sheets, news and market-specific content are built from blocks your marketing team assembles without writing code, and without a ticket to us every time a range changes. The point isn’t saving our time — it’s that a catalogue nobody can update stops being updated.

Documentation that survives the sales cycle

Datasheets, certifications, installation manuals, CAD and BIM files, declarations of performance. In manufacturing the documentation is the product page: a specifier who can’t download the file moves to the next supplier. We attach each document to the product it belongs to, versioned, reachable in one click from the page the buyer is already on.

Where there’s an ERP or a PIM, the product data comes from there. Nobody should type a code twice.

Configurators: when the product is composed, not picked

Some products don’t exist until someone specifies them. Dimensions, finishes, modules, compatibilities, rules about what can go with what. We build configurators that hold those rules, so the customer gets a valid combination and your team gets a specification they can quote — instead of a mail thread that starts with “is this possible?”.

More than one market, one system

Multiple languages, multiple price lists, products available in one country and not another. Our Rock (opens in a new tab) plugin handles the language layer; market logic sits in the content model, so the fourth market costs less than the second did.

FAQ

  • Yes. Product data, codes, availability and price lists can come from the system you already use, so the website stops being a second place to keep things updated.

  • Yes. Where the product is composed rather than picked, we build the rules into a configurator that returns a valid combination and a specification your team can quote from.

  • Yes — reserved areas with their own documentation, price lists and downloads, separate from what the public sees.

  • Yes, attached to the product and versioned, so what they download is what you currently make.

  • That’s the point of how we structure it. Languages, price lists and country availability are part of the content model, not a bolt-on.

  • WordPress when the site is a catalogue that supports a sales network. Shopify when you sell directly. Several of our clients run both. We’ll tell you which one your case needs before you ask us to build either.

When the company is a group

VI · When the company is a group

More than one company, one voice

Some of our clients aren’t a single factory. They’re a group: several legal entities, an institutional identity, a foundation, reports that go to investors rather than customers.

COIMA

Four years across the group: COIMA SGR and the Porta Nuova district, COIMA Image for corporate communication, the quarterly investor report, COIMA REM, COIMA HT.

BAM

Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano

The public park and its cultural programme, renewed as an annual commitment since 2023.

Fondazione Riccardo Catella

The group’s foundation, on the same editorial foundation as the rest.

If your company is a holding with operating subsidiaries and an institutional story to tell alongside the commercial one, we have been doing this for four years running.

What’s the next thing you’re launching?

Send us your current website and tell us what slows the work down: catalogue updates, technical documentation, dealer requests, or a market you want to open.

What happens next. We read your message and reply by email. If the scope still needs defining, we start with a paid discovery phase of two to three weeks, deducted from the project if we go ahead. Pricing and how we work (opens in a new tab)
